I am a scientist, manager and entrepreneur. My background is in theoretical physics and I am active in quantum technology, open-source software and deep tech transfer.

I am co-founder of Metis, a regtech startup that develops AI to help legal and other professionals in simplifying compliance and automating document processing.

I am a Fellow at the Unitary Foundation, a non-profit organization that performs in-house research in quantum tech and supports the open-source software ecosystem.  

Previously, I served as the Chief Strategy Officer of Quantum Italia, a startup studio based in Italy I helped design and get started, whose main focus is helping teams in quantum tech at the early stage in startup creation and acceleration. A second focus is attracting already established startups to the Italian ecosystem.

I have been a visiting scientist at the University of Milan, Italy and at RIKEN, Japan’s national lab. Previously, I was a postdoctoral research scientist at RIKEN, Japan, where I worked in the Theoretical Quantum Physics Laboratory. I serve as vice-president of the Association of Italian Researchers in Japan. I hold a PhD in Physics from the University of Southampton, UK.
